East Grand Forks, MN (KFGO) - The East Grand Forks Police Department is helping families in need this holiday season through parking ticket fines.
The department says during December, anyone who receives a snow emergency or calendar parking ticket may donate five non-perishable food items to the East Grand Forks Food Shelf and have their fine waived.
The food items and the ticket need to be brought to the police department so the ticket can be recorded.
Donations are accepted 24 hours a day at the police department.
The department says "the holiday season is a very special time can be very stressful for people who are struggling financially. Help us help families in need in our community during this special time of year."
