BISMARCK (KFGO) - North Dakota Governor-elect Doug Burgum has gotten married.
In a Facebook post Sunday night, the 60-year-old Burgum said he was "delighted" to introduce Kathryn Helgaas as his wife.
He said the couple were married recently in a small ceremony with immediate family.
Burgum’s spokesman Mike Nowatzki said no other details on the wedding would likely be released.
The couple’s engagement had been announced in a Facebook post during the campaign in August.
According to web posts, Helgaas was CEO of a Fargo marketing firm and couple has known each other for several years.
Burgum, a Fargo businessman, was elected governor in a landslide victory in November. He'll take office Dec. 15 .
