MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The principal of Chanhassen High School was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of possessing child pornography.
Agents with the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension arrested 44-year-old Timothy Scott Dorway at his Victoria home on Tuesday. He was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Carver County Jail.
BCA agents executed search warrants both at Dorway’s home and at Chanhassen High School, with the assistance of the Carver County Sheriff’s Office. The BCA says its investigation is active and ongoing.
Officials with East Carver County Schools said in a statement that no students in the district are connected to the investigation.
Officials say Dorway has been placed on leave, and a separate investigation will take place regarding his status with the district.
“This is a difficult day for our students, parents and community,” said Superintendent Jim Bauck. “There are questions that we want answers to and we’re working with the BCA as they conduct an investigation to find those answers. Chanhassen High School staff today was focused on their students and on dealing with this unfortunate news. We will need our community’s support of our students in the days ahead.”
