MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - The attorney for 10 University of Minnesota football players suspended in connection with an alleged sexual assault says he believes his clients won't get a fair hearing.
Attorney Lee Hutton says his clients won't be fairly heard because university President Eric Kaler already said they violated school values. He says his clients' right to due process was violated.
The players were suspended after a university investigation into an alleged assault in September. They have not been criminally charged.
Hutton also says he's unhappy the school's investigative report was leaked. He says people shouldn't rush to judgment, noting that some statements in the report contradict statements made during a court hearing on the issue. The statements made in court were under oath, he says, while statements in the report were not.
