MANKATO, Minn. - A relative says the man who was fatally shot by a Mankato police officer was a biology teacher in the Minneapolis area.
Thirty-three-year-old Chase Tuseth was the man who was shot early Saturday at a motel in Mankato, according to his uncle, Mark Liptrap.
Tuseth was a 2008 graduate of Minnesota State University and taught at Tokata Learning Center in the Shakopee School District.
Authorities say the officer responded to a disturbance at a Country Inn & Suites about 4 a.m. Saturday and shot a man during a struggle. The officer was hurt and treated at a hospital.
The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is investigating. The name of the officer has not been released.
