Wrong-way crash on I29 injures two; woman arrested for DUI

Great Bend, N.D. (KFGO) - A 24-year-old South Dakota woman was arrested for DUI and a 45-year-old Fargo woman was life flighted following a crash on I29 Friday night.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol says around 9:10 p.m., an SUV driven by Taylor Hoeke of Milbank, S.D., was traveling north in the southbound lane of I29,  while a car driven by a 34-year-old California man was traveling south.

The car's driver, Thuy Huong Huynh Ha, braked and swerved to try and avoid a collision but couldn't. The SUV hit the passenger side of the car.

Huynh Ha was taken by ambulance to Essentia Hospital in Fargo. His passenger, Kimberly Huynh, was life flighted to Sanford Hospital in Fargo.

Hoeke was not injured and arrested for DUI.

The crash happened 4 miles north of Great Bend, N.D.

The crash is still under investigation.
