FARGO (KFGO) - The last of four men charged in the beating death of a man outside a main avenue bar in Fargo has been given a longer prison term than the prosecutor recommended.
The state's attorneys office asked for 15 years for Scott Moen of Fargo, citing his cooperation with the investigation into the May 2015 death of Joey Gaarsland. He pleaded guilty.
Two other men were also given 20 years while the fourth defendant got 15 years.
Gaarsland was 35. Police say he died while defending his wife during an argument that began in the bar and ended up in the parking lot.
