Suspicious fire destroys former church in Otter Tail Co.

DEER CREEK, MN (KFGO) -Three fire departments responded Mon. morning to a fire at a former church southeast of Deer Creek, in eastern Otter Tail County.

The fire was at the former Union Corners Church at the junction of Hwy. 210 and Otter Tail Co. 73. The initial call was that the front of the building was on fire.

The church has been abandoned for about 10 years and nothing of value was inside. The building was destroyed. The fire is considered suspicious and the state fire marshal’s office will investigate.

The Deer Creek, Henning and Hewitt fire departments fought the blaze.
