MINOT, N.D. (AP) - Minot police say the practice of serving alcohol at unlicensed premises has been on the rise, with at least two cases currently pending.

The two cases involve the hosting of late-night gatherings where alcohol was available in exchange for a donation. Liquor sales in Minot require both a state and city license.

One of the cases involved a man who was arrested following a police investigation into alcohol being served at a warehouse in south Minot. The other involves a motorcycle club accused of serving alcohol inside their clubhouse in exchange for donations.

The city's liquor and gambling control committee is considering additions to city ordinances regarding liquor sales, including a provision to address the practice of giving away alcohol to attract patrons.
