GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) - The North Dakota Supreme Court has ruled that a state district court judgeship recently vacated in Grand Forks will remain in that city.

Northeast Central District Judge Debbie Kleven stepped down this month to go into private practice. State law requires the state Supreme Court to review vacant judgeships and determine whether they should be filled, and whether they should remain in the same city or be moved elsewhere.

Justices determined that caseloads warrant the judgeship remaining in Grand Forks.
