FARGO (KFGO) - A Fargo city employee has been disciplined for making derogatory social media comments about Dakota Access Pipeline protesters.
The employee's written remarks implied that protesters at the camp near Cannon Ball, ND should be fenced in, shot, or left to drown in a flood.
Fargo city officials say the employee was issued a written reprimand and placed on unpaid suspension. In a written statement, the city says the employee agreed to the disciplinary action and is sorry for the remarks.
In addition, all Fargo city employees will be required to attend enhanced cultural sensitivity training.
