MOORHEAD, Minn. (KFGO-AM) - A North Dakota sheriff who was charged after a confrontation at a bar in Dilworth, Minn. has reached a plea agreement. Sargent County Sheriff Travis Paeper was charged with misdemeanor disorderly conduct.
Clay County Attorney Brian Melton says he's agreed to withhold the charge for one year if Paeper has no other offenses and pays $150 in court fees.
A police report says three women asked Paeper to leave their table at the Red Hen Taphouse after he said something that offended them. Paeper told police that one of the women hit him several times on the face.
The report also said Paeper was "very uncooperative" when they arrived at the bar and tried to reprimand a Dilworth police officer.
