GRAFTON, ND (KFGO) - Some relief in Grafton where the Park River may top out lower than earlier predicted. Walsh County Emergency Mgr. Brent Nelson says the weather service has revised its crest prediction to 14.5 ft.
Nelson is also encouraged by the lack of rain in the forecast over the next several days.
A forecast of a potential crest of over 17 ft. prompted an emergency declaration to begin flood protection preparation.
Contractors hired by the Corps of Engineers have completed work to close levees ahead of the rising water.
