NOME, ND (KFGO) - There are new developments in the investigation of a fire that destroyed a Nome, ND church that was recently purchased by white supremacist Craig Cobb.

A report from the North Dakota Fire Marshal’s office says the fire was intentionally set. The report says the fire was started by an "open flame device" near the southeast door of the building.

The building had no electrical service or heat. New locks were installed just one day before the fire.Nome residents expressed concern after Cobb purchased the property in February. Cobb has also said he believes the fire was intentionally set.

Barnes County Sheriff Randy McClaflin says several people have been interviewed. He says investigators have also been looking for clues from photos taken by onlookers.
