FARGO (KFGO) - Fargo police had their hands full last night dealing with a large party near the NDSU campus.
Lt. Chris Helmick says neighborhood complaints starting coming in around 8 about a big crowd and noise at the home in the 1500 block of 12th Street North.
The crowd was estimated between 100 to 150 people. Helmick says it was clear "something out of the ordinary was going on for a Wednesday night."
Helmick says officers warned he renters to break up the party but were later called back. Police coming into the area were flagged down by neighbors who were attempting to shut down the party on their own.
Helmick says the hosts, who were cooperative, were cited for loud, unnecessary noise. More than 15 people were cited, most for underage drinking. One person was arrested for resisting police.
Officers didn't clear the scene until midnight. Helmick says extra officers will be patrolling the neighborhood tonight to make sure there's no repeat.
