FARGO (KFGO) - Two south Fargo daycare centers operated by The Village will close at the end of June.
Nokomis Child Care Center locations on 23rd Street South and 16th Avenue South are shutting down on June 30th.
Chairman of the Board Rick Henderson says he realizes the impact that the closures will have on families and says the decision to close was not easy. Henderson says the opening of several other child care centers has led to "a more competitive environment" and made it more difficult to fill open slots.
Employees and families were notified Thursday. The closure will affect 140 children and 38 fulltime staff members.
