Police: Thieves are hitting unlocked vehicles in north Fargo neighborhoods.

FARGO - (KFGO) - Police call them car hoppers and they've been busy in north Fargo, stealing from parked cars. Sgt. Mark Lykken says neighborhoods north of 19th Avenue have been targeted.

This month there have been at least 8 vehicles entered. None were locked. He reminds you to check your vehicle to make sure it is locked up and don't leave valuables inside.

Police were able to link two juveniles to four of the crimes and referred them to juvenile court.

Lykken says the rise in drug activity and those needing money to buy the drugs has increased the number of these type of thefts. He says in many of these cases, it's tips from the public that helps lead to arrests.
