MOORHEAD, Minn. (KFGO) - Charges have been filed against a Barnesville, Minn. man in connection with a brutal beating that left a woman "covered head to toe in blood."
Court documents say Moorhead police were called Sunday to a disturbance in an apartment on 18th Street. When officers arrived, the woman "was in and out of consciousness" and had a broken nose and septum.Twenty-eight-year-old Duane Moberg is charged with felony assault and misdemeanor domestic assault.
The complaint also says police found blood throughout the passenger side of Moberg's car, along with the victim's purse and wallet. When Moberg was questioned by police the following day, he told investigators that he didn’t remember the incident and said “I wasn’t in the wrong.”
Prosecutors say Moberg's criminal history includes domestic violence, weapons and drug-related offenses. If convicted, Moberg faces up to 6 years in prison and a $13,000 fine.
