FARGO (KFGO) - After more than 75 years, a North Dakota sailor, who died during the Pearl Harbor attack in WWII, has finally come home.

The remains of Gunner's Mate 1st Class Arthur Neuenschwander arrived at Fargo's Hector International Airport Thurs. night.

A memorial service and burial for Neuenschwander will be in Fessenden, his hometown, on Saturday afternoon.

Neuenschwander was assigned to the USS Oklahoma and was aboard the ship at Pearl Harbor when it was attacked on December 7th, 1941. He was 33.

Remains of many service members who died during the attack were buried at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific in Honolulu, Hawaii, unidentified for decades.

However, current DNA technology has helped bring many soldiers, like Neuenschwander, back home to their families.
