West Fargo, N.D. (KFGO) - In a special meeting, the West Fargo City Commission has selected FBI Supervisory Special Agent Heith Janke to be the city's next police chief.
Based on a recommendation from City Administrator Tina Fisk, the council unanimously agreed to hire Janke.
“This is the right fit for the city of West Fargo to take us to the next level, and he’ll add to that,” Fisk said.
Commissioner Mark Wentz echoed that saying that Janke really stood out to him and will bring a team aspect to the department and community.
Mayor Rich Mattern said Janke had an answer to every question he was asked.
"He had done his research, he knew what was going on. I was very impressed with that," Matter said.
Janke will be officially hired at the commission’s next meeting on July 5th.
