BISMARCK, N.D. - The Texas-based developer of the Dakota Access Pipeline says it no longer has private security personnel in North Dakota.
Energy Transfer Partners Spokeswoman Vicki Granado said that it also no longer retains the services of a firm that state regulators say operated illegally without a license.
North Dakota's private investigative and security board sued last week to block North Carolina-based Tigerswan's armed workers from continuing to monitor the pipeline system. The board says the company had no license and operated after being denied one.
A Tigerswan spokesman says the company ceased operations in North Dakota around the end of June.
The $3.8 billion pipeline began moving North Dakota oil to a distribution point in Illinois last month.
