BISMARCK, N.D. - A judge has scheduled a change-of-plea hearing for a Jamaican man accused of masterminding a lottery scam that victimized dozens of Americans out of millions of dollars.
Documents show Lavrick Willocks has agreed to plead guilty to a conspiracy charge in federal court in North Dakota. Prosecutors will dismiss 65 other counts of fraud and money laundering. The plea hearing is set for July 27.
The scam bilked at least 90 mostly elderly Americans out of more than $5.7 million.
