Sunday closing law repeal language to be submitted for review

BISMARCK (KFGO) - A group pushing to repeal North Dakota's Sunday closing law will ask the secretary of state to approve ballot language Tues. to allow stores to open before noon.

Organizer Brandon Medenwald says the proposal would not force stores in malls to open if their lease is signed prior to Jan. 2019. Alcohol and car sales would not be affected.

If enough petition signatures are collected, the question would appear on the Nov. 2018 ballot.
