BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - North Dakota Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring says the federal Organic Certification Cost Share Program is now accepting applications for fiscal 2017.
Organic producers, processors and handlers can apply for reimbursement of up to $750 of their certification costs from last October through this coming September.
About $229,000 is available for North Dakota producers, on a first-come, first-served basis. The deadline to apply is Oct. 31.
Certification enables producers to label and sell their organic products with a federal seal assuring they were produced with recognized organic methods.
