Bond set at $1-million in Fergus Falls standoff

FERGUS FALLS, MN (KFGO) - A man who police say threatened his girlfriend and fired two shots in the direction of officers Sat. afternoon remains in jail on $1-million bond.

Theodore Tiede, 27, is accused of holding a gun to the head of his girlfriend, who got out of the house and called police. Police Chief Kile Bergren eventually negotiated with Tiede, who fired shots out a basement window before surrendering.

At one point, prosecutors say Tiede said he was having mental health issues and challenged police to come into the house and see how officers would do against the Marine corps.
