GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) - The North Dakota Highway Patrol says a fatal collision between a tanker truck and a van carrying 10 people happened when the van attempted to turn around on the highway.

Three passengers in the van were killed in the crash Tuesday west of Grand Forks. The patrol identified the victims as 39-year-old Jason Boppre, 66-year-old William Joyner and 41-year-old Gary Voeller, all of Grand Forks.

The patrol says van was carrying workers for a cleaning company who were headed to the Grand Forks Air Force Base.

Both vehicles were heading west on the four-lane road when the van attempted to turn around at a crossover and was struck by the semi.

The patrol says the other seven people in van were injured. The semi driver was not hurt.
