GRAND FORKS - A Grand Forks man accused of shooting another man at a convenience store has been charged with attempted murder and reckless endangerment in the incident authorities say stemmed from a case of road rage.
24-year-old Jody Bergland Jr. maintains he pulled the trigger to defend himself from an angry driver with a knife.
Police allege Bergland shot a man Monday afternoon and then fled. Officers caught up with him a short time later and arrested him.
The man who was shot was taken to a hospital with a shoulder injury not believed to be life-threatening.
