West Fargo, N.D. (KFGO) - Three people were taken to the hospital after a vehicle hydroplaned on I-94 and hit an overhead sign support just outside of West Fargo Sunday afternoon.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol says just before 5 p.m., an SUV was westbound on the interstate when the driver, 71-year-old Alvin Jorgensen of Hope, drove into heavy rain and lost control. The SUV vehicle slid into a median and hit the overhead sign support on the passenger side of the vehicle.
The patrol says the vehicle was going about 75 mph with cruise control on right before the crash.
Jorgensen and his two passengers, a 54-year-old Hope woman and a 77-year-old Valley City woman, were taken to Sanford Hospital with unknown injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
