West Battle Lake, MN (KFGO/KBRF) - The Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office has identified the man it's searching for on West Battle Lake.
The sheriff's department says it's looking for 39-year-old Peter Akintola Akinboro of Nigeria, who has been living in the Grand Forks area for about three years, and who was visiting family at Battle Lake.
Akinboro was wearing a life jacket when he drove off from a cabin on a personal watercraft Saturday. The personal watercraft was discovered floating in the lake with the life jacket on the seat. Akinboro did not know how to swim. A family member notified authorities just before 6 pm Saturday and a search began. Akinboro has not been found at this time.
The water patrol and a dive team resumed their search this morning. A drone is being used to help in the search.
