BREAKING NEWS: Greywind body found, police postpone news conference until Monday

Moorhead (KFGO) - Fargo Police Chief Dave Todd has announced that the body of 22 year-old Savanna Greywind was found Sunday evening in the Red River north of Moorhead.

Todd says the body, which was wrapped in plastic, was discovered by two people in a kayak at about 5:45 p.m.  The location was near Clay County Hwy. 26.

Todd says at the same time, a nearby farmstead was being searched. Suspicious items were found at the farmstead that led authorities to believe it may be a crime scene Todd said.

Greywind disappeared on August 19th. Family members say she went to a neighbor's apartment to fit a dress that the neighbor said she was sewing. They hadn't heard from her since.

The neighbor, Brooke Crews, and her boyfriend, William Hoehn, were arrested on kidnapping conspiracy charges after a newborn, believed to be Greywind's, was discovered in their apartment.  Greywind was eight months pregnant when she vanished.

Chief Todd said the Ramsey County, MN medical examiner will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
