Fargo, N.D. (KFGO) - The Fargo Police Department says a male was assaulted near the park behind NDSU's T-Lofts over the weekend.
The police department says they were originally called to the Sanford ER around 2:15 a.m. about a patient who had been assaulted. The victim told police he confronted two males he thought were responsible for another assault when they jumped him. The officer noted the victim had several injuries to his face but the victim told the officer to "not worry about him" and didn't want a report to be done.
Later that morning, the victim's mother called police saying her son was in surgery and was wondering what they were doing with the investigation. The department told the mother about the early interaction with the victim but after the mother explained the extent of her son's injuries, a deputy supervisor was sent to sanford to take a report.
The department says three suspects have been interviewed. The victim suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries. The case will be sent to the Cass County State's Attorney's Office for consideration of charges.
