Grand Forks, N.D. (KFGO) - A 26-year-old Grand Forks man is in custody after a pursuit that started in Grand Forks and ended near Fisher, Minnesota Tuesday night.

The Grand Forks Police Department says around 5:30 p.m., an officer saw a man wanted on a felony warrant driving a vehicle. As the officer got behind the vehicle, driven by Kyle Heintz, Heintz fled.

The pursuit crossed over into East Grand Forks where the East Grand Forks Police Department took over. Once the pursuit left city limits, the Polk County Sheriff's Department took over with assistance from the state patrol.

Heintz was eventually stopped after the use of spike strips and a PIT maneuver. Heintz was taken into custody by Polk County Deputies.

He is facing DWI, fleeing in a motor vehicle, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia charges in Polk County.

The Grand Forks Police Department says Heintz will face charges of fleeing, driving under suspension and reckless endangerment in Grand Forks County District Court.

The Polk County Sheriff's Office says he also had outstanding warrants in both states at the time of the pursuit.
