Digi-Key breaks ground on Thief River Falls expansion

THIEF RIVER FALLS, Minn. (KFGO) - Ground was broken Friday for a major expansion at Digi-Key in Thief River Falls.

Mayor Brian Holmer says the company plans to create about 1,000 new jobs over the next ten years.

Digi-Key is adding a $200 million manufacturing and warehouse center in Thief River Falls.  

Gov. Mark Dayton and Rep. Collin Peterson were among those who attended the groundbreaking.

The company currently employs about 3,200 people in Minnesota.
