FERGUS FALLS, MN (KFGO) - The former fleet manager of Nelson Auto Center has made his first court appearance on charges that he overcharged Minnesota law enforcement agencies for equipment on police vehicles that they thought was included.
Gerry Worner, 70, is charged with five felony counts of theft by swindle. Worner was charged after a state patrol and Bureau of Criminal Apprehension investigation.
Worner is accused of charging the agencies nearly $380,000 for special equipment that was not on the Ford Interceptor SUVS and squad cars when they were delivered.
Worner's attorney told the judge that he has thousands of documents to review. Worner's next court date is Jan. 3.
