LAS VEGAS - A former UND baseball and football player, Andrew Gudmunson of Minot, is among the more than 500 people injured in Sun. night’s Las Vegas shooting.
He is a real estate broker in Minot. His employer posted on Facebook that Gudmunson is out of surgery, and has opened his eyes and wiggled his toes. The post says the doctors are very optimistic that he will be fine.
On Twitter, UND athletic director Brian Faison posted, "We're told he is out of surgery, stable and conscious, but more surgery ahead. Please keep Andrew and his family in your thoughts."
Also on Twitter, Senator John Hoeven said he is praying for Gudmunson’s recovery. Former UND baseball coach Jeff Dodson wrote that his thoughts and prayers are with Gudmunson.
Gudmunson was an infielder from 2007 to 2009. He was a quarterback on the football team in 2006, but did not appear in any games.
