DULUTH, Minn. (KFGO/KDAL) - Searchers have found the body of a truck driver who went off a bridge on Interstate 35 into the St. Louis River near Scanlon, just west of Duluth.
It happened shortly after 4:30 a.m. Friday. The northbound driver lost control of the truck on the snowy freeway right before the bridge, and went over the bridge and into the river.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation and State Patrol reported multiple spinouts, vehicles in ditches and crashes in the area, where the National Weather Service says as much as 8 inches of snow had accumulated.
