ARTHUR, ND (KFGO) - An electrical malfunction was the likely cause of last week's fire that destroyed Arthur Barn north of Arthur.
The determination was made after an investigation by the Cass County Sheriff's Office and a deputy state fire marshal. The barn, formerly called Johnson's Barn, went up in flames last Thurs. afternoon. The fire spread quickly, the result of strong winds. It started on the ground level near an electrical junction box.
The barn was known for hosting dances and hundreds of other events for decades. It's owned by a Casselton couple.
