MOORHEAD, Minn. (KFGO) - Court documents are providing more details about a September shooting that involved a West Fargo man near Detroit Lakes.

Fifty-five-year-old Dean Minnerath was shot by two Becker County deputies along Highway 10 following a chase that hit speeds of more than 95 mph. Proseuctors say Minnerath was shot after he got out of his vehicle with a gun and ignored commands to put it down.

A search warrant affidavit says after the shooting, Minnerath was found by officers lying down on a military-style rifle near the vehicle's open driver's door. Officers initiated first aid.  Court documents say "Minnerath appeared to be bleeding from several locations and had likely been struck by gunshots in numerous locations."

Minnerath remains in a Fargo hospital. He's facing numerous charges.
