Hankinson, N.D. (KFGO) - A 28-year-old Hankinson, North Dakota woman is being treated for a gunshot wound to her leg.
The Richland County Sheriff's Office says Sunday night Sara Kiner told them she was handling a 9 mm handgun when it discharged and hit her in the leg.
She was taken by private party to the hospital in Breckenridge.
Her current condition is unknown.
Authorities were notified of the shooting by hospital staff when Kiner arrived at the ER.
The incident remains under investigation.
