FARGO (KFGO) - Monthly rates at downtown city-owned Fargo parking facilities will increase in the new year if city commissioners approve a recomendation from the parking commission.
The rate hikes range from 5.4 % to 10 %. City Planner Derrick LaPointe says the rates are higher for ramps and parking lots closest to the city center.
He says an analysis indicates rates could be much higher. LaPointe says the city wants to create a system that has lower and higher rate options.
None of the proposed monthly rates are over $100, with the exception of 25 reserved spaces in the new "RoCo" ramp on Roberts St. which could see an increase from $115 to $125 per spot. LaPointe says those spots were filled immediately when the ramp opened several months ago. The ramp has 430 spaces and like nearly all city-owned parking locations, spaces are sold.
