BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - A man is facing federal drug and weapons charges in North Dakota.
Vernon Pook Jr. is charged with conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance, possession of a stolen firearm, and discharge of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime. He has pleaded not guilty.
Authorities say Pook has been moving marijuana from another state to North Dakota within the last few months. He was arrested Monday in Washburn.
Trial is scheduled for Oct. 4.
