Carson Wentz shoots commercial in downtown Fargo

FARGO (KFGO) The newest star of the NFL, Carson Wentz is back in Fargo for a visit. That's no secret. It's homecoming weekend at NDSU. But his appearance in downtown Fargo certainly was a closely guard secret.

The former Bison standout and now a quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles was with a film crew shooting a commercial which required several blocks of Broadway, in and around the inconic Fargo Theater, to be closed to traffic for several hours Friday, during busy morning drive time.

A notice sent out by police about the street closure didn't mention why. Police say those making the commercial didn't want Wentz mobbed by fans. Some people did show up, pens and memoribilia in hand, asking for autograph from Wentz who obliged with a smile.

Jamestown based RealTruck.com, was making the commercial with Wentz as it tricks out his new pickup. Realtruck specializes in after-market truck accessories. The commercials will be promoted on the company's social media sites.  A spokesman says the company started discussions with Wentz months before he became a household name.
