FARGO (KFGO) - Legendary Fargo sportscaster Jin Adelson has died in Arizona at age 91. A daughter notified KFGO of the death Sat.  Adelson died Friday. "He was a great guy'", said former co-worker Charley Johnson, who worked with Adelson at KXJB Ch. 4. Johnson is now Exec. Director of the Fargo-Moorhead Convenstion and Visitors Bureau.

Adelson was the sports director at the station for 25 years. Johnson, who had heard that Adelson had taken a fall, visited Adelson in Scottsdale, last Nov.

Adelson did a sports segment on KFGO in the 1990s. Often, he had no notes on the sports happenings of the day as he was beginning to prepare for his evening TV broadcasts since he was on an area golf course most afternoons and the internet didn't exist.  Golf was a passion for Adelson throughout his lifetime.

His three children, Steve, Tom and Sally, also live Arizona.  Adelson was an occasional guest on KFGO News & Views with Joel Heitkamp and with KFGO afternoon talk host Derek Hanson during his weekend "Couch Potato" segment in recent years.
