UPDATE: Moorhead man hospitalized after violent assault by roommate

MOORHEAD (KFGO) - A man has been arrested for the violent assault on his roommate at their apartment at 1338 4th Avenue South in Moorhead. Police were called to the address around 1:30 a.m. Thursday on a report of a disturbance. 

Lt. Mike Detloff says outside they found 45 year-old John Noll with significant injuries. The suspect, 45-year-old Raymond Jacobson, was still inside the apartment but refused to come out so police had to force their way in. Detloff says nearly every item in the apartment was either "broken or bloody." It's believed furniture and other items, including a fire extinquisher were used to assault Noll. Detloff says Noll may have been sleeping when the assault happened.

Police have not yet determined a motive for the assault has not been determined. Noll had to undergo surgery for his injuries. 

Jacobson is facing charges of misdemeanor domestic assault, felony assault with a deadly weapon and obstructing the legal process.
