MOORHEAD, Minn. (KFGO) - Criminal sexual conduct charges have been dropped against a former substitute teacher at DGF High School in Glyndon, Minn.
Thirty-nine-year-old Tara Nichols was accused of having sex with male students between 17 and 18 years old. Court documents say Nichols told investigators that she picked up one of the students and drove to a remote area to have sex.
Defense attorney Lindsey Haugen says the case was dismissed because Nichols was never in a position of authority over the students.
The investigation began after a parent reported that her son was receiving inappropriate messages and pictures from Nichols.
Nichols resigned in January.
