MOORHEAD, Minn. (KFGO-AM) - The Moorhead Police Dept. is testing a couple of body cameras.
Police Chief Dave Ebinger says two vendors are providing the cameras free-of-charge on a trial basis.
Ebinger says the cameras are not being used on a regular basis and are being worn only by supervisors. The video is being retained at least 90 days as required by state law.
Due to staffing and budget issues, Ebinger doesn't expect to purchase cameras for every officer for at least a couple of years.
