FARGO (KFGO) - Republican State Senator-elect Jim Roers picked up one vote during a meeting of the Cass County Canvassing Board.
That gave him a 37-vote margin of victory over Dem. Senator George Sinner in so. Fargo's District 46. The change was made after previously uncounted absentee ballots were added.
County Auditor Mike Montplaisir says the gap is too wide to trigger an automatic recount. He says if Sinner wants a recount, he would have to cover the cost, estimated at $1,000.
Sinner has three business days to ask for a recount after the state canvassing board meets on Friday.
