MOORHEAD (KFGO) -- A car that witnesses reported went into the Red River in Moorhead early Saturday still has not been found, despite exhaustive searches by firefighters and Valley Water Rescue.
Lieutenant Brad Penas says the water in that area is not that deep right now. "There is some current there, it's not greatly strong so we don't know how far a car could have moved but a large portion of the river has been searched. The biggest thing we're doing and have been doing throughout the weekend is trying to determine if we have any missing persons reports, stolen vehicles, things like that, that could possibly be a match and we're not really coming up with anything at this time" Penas said.
Penas says another search of the river will likely take place. Police, firefighters and Valley Water Rescue will discuss when they might do that.
