GOODLETTSVILLE, TN (KFGO) - Dollar General is expanding into North Dakota.
The Tennessee-based discount chain has stores under construction in Oakes, Ellendale, Hankinson, Hillsboro and Gwinner. The stores are scheduled to open in the spring.
North Dakota is the 44th state for Dollar General, which says it meets the affordability needs of its customers by pricing more than 80% of its merchandise at $5 or less.
The retailer is exploring other opportunities for stores in North Dakota. It has more than 13,000 stores and 119,000 employees.
