VALLEY CITY, N.D. (KFGO/AP) - The North Dakota Highway Patrol says a woman was killed when her car vaulted off an interstate overpass and became wedged between the bridge deck and the underpass below.
The patrol says the Max, North Dakota woman was driving east on Interstate 94 near Valley City Sunday evening when her car flew over the guardrail, landed on its top and came to rest wedged under the eastbound overpass bridge deck.
The woman had to be extricated from the vehicle. She was taken to a Mercy Hospital in Valley City where she was pronounced dead.
It's not clear whether travel conditions played a role in the crash. The investigation is ongoing.
